Welcome to the little slice of Shakespeare heaven!
We welcome all who are curious about the bard! The place where we believe…
“Shakespeare is for Everybody! YES, everybody! ”
I hear you! Even though he IS speaking English, you DON’T understand anything Shakespeare is saying. And just maybe you don’t want to.
Let me guess why. Somewhere along the path of your early life you may have been in an English class. In this class, you might have been asked to read some passage from Romeo & Juliet… maybe a “love scene”… aloud… in front of the class! How embarrassing! Well, that might sour anyone from exploring further the greatness that is Shakespeare.
Shakespeare wrote mainly for the theatre. His words were meant to be heard in a theatrical performance. Reading his words is… a less appealing yet understandable format for a young scholar. But I’m here to say…
Even you CAN understand Shakespeare!
Shakespeare is all around us. Have you ever heard (or said) these phrases:
Love is blind.
Break the ice
Heart of gold
Dead as a doornail
Full circle
Sound familiar? You speak “Shakespeare”! Need more evidence? Watch this short video...
